True to its title, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) and her development as a stand-up comedian. In episode 1, adult Esther (Alexandra Socha) is a brilliant scientist studying in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and she tells her therapist that her grandfather is the only one who truly understands her. that.
