Christina Aistrup Hansen (Josephine Park), a nurse, was found guilty of four counts of willful manslaughter in Kasper Barfoed’s Danish horror series The Nurse. The film follows Pernille Kurzmann (Fanny Louis Bernth) as she begins her first job at Nykbing Falster Hospital in Denmark shortly after graduating from nursing school. There, she quickly befriends Christina, a fellow nurse whom she loves and respects, but Pernille soon realizes that her colleagues are much more than just plain sight.
Kurzmann’s revelations about Hansen led to one of Denmark’s most shocking prosecutions.
The series’ tragic events are based on an authentic scenario that Danish writer Kristian Corfixen wrote in her book Nurses: the real scenario behind one of Scandinavia’s most notorious criminal trials, as opposed to what viewers might believe.
