Stephanie Williams in Queer Eye

Stephanie Williams has been nominated for a guest appearance on the popular show Queer Eye a strange eye. The series returns for the seventh season. It was immediately clear from the moment Stephanie appeared on our screens that being a lesbian in the South had taken its toll on her passionate and loving soul.

He had bright eyes but a guarded demeanor. Even Rachel “Rae” McCain, who has been her girlfriend for six years, admitted that over the years she became quite nervous about how people perceived her, which is why she began to hide behind her love for sports. It’s not that the former doesn’t support the New Orleans Saints or Pelicans; except that even though she was so much more than this, he ended up adopting this “superfan” persona as his persona.

Rae submitted the nomination because Steph couldn’t recognize her true worth on her own and because she was about to start over in their first house together. It is then revealed that the latter had changed in the past three years from being a proud and confident creature to a calm and comfortable creature due to a homophobic incident that occurred while she was just trying to be nice.

Rae accumulated an excessive amount of sports memorabilia and clothing, avoided trying new things, and despite living with Rae in her father’s house for four years, she didn’t have a single photo of the two of them together.

So it should come as no surprise that the Fab Five insisted that Steph was enough just the way she was before helping her achieve it through modest lifestyle changes. They actually accomplished this by dressing her while still maintaining her sense of style, encouraging her to try new things, showing her that she has the support of her family and community, and then pushing her a little further with a new hairstyle.

This was made possible in large part by the fact that they took care of the interior design of their new home, especially since it was a stylish way to show their commitment to Rae and athletics. “This has been the greatest blessing of my entire life,” Steph said through tears during the latest reveal. “I knew it was going to be a really difficult and challenging process that I couldn’t even imagine, difficult as it was. You’re just… you’re amazing. Thank you.”

She should be proud though, because none of this would have been possible if she hadn’t been willing to truly change for the sake of her relationship and herself. The courage she displayed in proposing to Rae at her housewarming party in front of all of her loved ones, to which he no doubt said yes, may have been the best part of her trip.

It seems like a year has passed since Fab Five stopped working with Steph as a client, but she seems to have followed all her advice and therefore continues on a path of balance and happiness. Thankfully, she still has her superfan/mom bird persona when it comes to sports, but she has come to terms with the fact that she is so much more than that as a wife, daughter, sister, partner, and professional worker.

We use the word “accepted” because it is clear that nothing has suddenly changed; instead, she simply has a better understanding of the areas where she still needs to improve in order to be more satisfied.

Is Stephanie Williams still in a relationship with Rae McCain?

When Stephanie Williams and Rae began a serious relationship, it seemed like the middle of the decade. However, they quickly fell in love and realized that they had finally met the “one”. “Every time I first met [her]she always wore pretty clothes,” the latter fondly recalled in his special episode (#2) before adding, “She was super, super confident and happy the whole time.”

The sad reality is that he later watched his girlfriend degenerate into a nearly lifeless shell of the lively person she used to be due to people’s conservative southern values, leading to several homophobic incidents.

Despite this, Steph’s temper finally flared in 2019 when she felt “other” after giving up her seat in a crowded venue to a stranger out of courtesy. “That moment lives with me every day,” she honestly admitted to the production. “It’s hard being different and not being able to control being different, and then people hate you for it without even getting to know you.” This led Rae to reveal: “[Steph is] Always concerned about what others think and outward appearance. It’s kind of horrible to watch, but I can talk her into a lot of things.”

After a while, Steph’s anxieties and doubts became so ingrained in her that she refused to even hold her partner’s hand in public or show photos of them together at her home. There was no sign of them because she didn’t want others to ask her about the nearly four years they spent together in her father’s house while saving for her own. She also began to mask herself behind her love of sports, reducing herself to just a New Orleans “superfan” with all the merchandise and memorabilia despite the fact that she was so much more than that.

Rae decided to nominate her girlfriend for Netflix’s “Queer Eye” after she and Steph closed on their first dream home together in hopes it would start a happy new chapter in their relationship.

“I love [Steph], and I want us to be two old ladies, you know, growing old together,” Rae said on the show, while her boyfriend of six years admitted, “I’m reminded every day that she’s expecting. She is waiting for that ring. But I was never sure that she would say yes.

According to Rae’s Facebook, they have been married since October 20, 2016.

Rae is a registered nurse in the surgical trauma intensive care unit at the University Medical Center of New Orleans. She is also a registered nurse at Ochsner Medical Center. Rae attended Jewel M. Sumner High School and Delgado Community College and Louisiana State University of Alexandria.
