Funny footage of a crazy cockatoo. Angry cockatoo destroys a row of spikes against nesting

Here in Ozzyland we are bloody love scammers. Well, to be fair, since the days of Ned Kelly, cheeky ticks have been on our list of Ozzy legends, and if this video makes any sense then the grumpy cockatoo from Katoomba could be on its way to becoming an icon in its own right.

If you’ve ever spent time around cockatoos, you’ll be quite wise to their antics.

They’re pretty good looking birds, but honestly, they’re also total assholes. They really are.

They are noisy and like to destroy things. A bit like teenagers. In fact, since you can teach them to swear like soldiers, they’re like teenagers in some ways.

This confident man is clearly a little-known figure in the Blue Mountains town of Katoomba.

He usually pokes people for food, but on the day of this video he decided that anti-nesting spikes were installed to prevent him and his friends from making nests, possibly will take a long way off the short plank.

And that’s why the video starts with him fixing the house. He said, “Yeah, no, this won’t work. These spikes can be cut! These spikes can go on a rampage! These spikes can jump!” Luckily, no one faced the barrage of spikes falling on his head, because as the video shows us, he walks straight along the ledge, making room for his friends.

Sean Dooley, editor of the Australian magazine Birdlife, believes cockatoos “enjoy a lot” of “more strategic damage”. “They seem to enjoy it. It’s clear that cockatoos are very intelligent birds, and in their social structure they have things that are like games to us.”

Conclusion: As you can see, this damn smug guy is clearly some kind of anti-hero, and we’re sure his cocky friends love him. Sure, they might think of him as a cannonball, but we all need a few friends like that, don’t we?
