When Alexander Molony first heard that he had been cast as Peter Pan in Disney’s live-action Peter Pan & Wendy, he didn’t know how to react. On the other hand, his mother, Claire-Louise Molony, who gave him the news, was elated and nervous because his life was about to change.

Claire-Louise Molony is the loving mother of Alexander Molony who took him to auditions for Peter Pan and Wendy. She recalled that many children auditioned for the role of Peter. She then guessed that it would be a long time before Alexander passed the audition.
However, just after Christmas 2020, he saw that the casting call for Peter and the Darling kids had been canceled and directors were searching the world over to cast them. Then out of the blue, in late January 2021, Claire got a call that Alexander was invited to the filming/chemistry stage where she would meet the director, producers, and the American casting director.
“The three-day process was stressful. They told us we’d get back to you in two weeks, so I was sure I’d get a call saying I didn’t get the part,” she added.
However, the following month, when Alexander was away with his father and brother, Claire received another call saying they wanted to see him again. She so she asked Alexander to come back from his trip and took him back to London. “The next few days were agonizing and I was so glass half empty that I was preparing myself for the ‘sorry’ phone call. However, Alexander’s agent later called me from his own phone to tell me that he had been cast.” She was happy.
Now that her son is a superstar, Claire is beyond proud of what Alexander has accomplished. I mean, every time she took him to a photo shoot, he would amaze her with her professionalism. “I think the holiday term at Blackheath Conservatoire was a turning point for Alexander and us in thinking that acting was something he could take more seriously,” she speculated.

Yes, as of 2023, Claire-Louise Molony is married to Alexander’s father, Joe Molony. The two got married in August 2004, nine years after they met.

He soon landed the role of Tom, the son of a demon, in the E4/Netflix horror comedy Crazyhead. He then appeared in various commercials, including Christmas ads for Quality Street, DFS, TK Maxx and Tesco. And now, he is Peter Pan in Peter Pan & Wendy.
“My favorite thing about playing Peter Pan is definitely the stunts. Until I was able to hang off cliffs, I was able to fly in general and sword fight, all of which was hard but a lot of fun,” he shared of his experience shooting the movie.
He also confirmed that pranks were frequent during filming. For example, when he and Ever (Wendy) were doing the flying sequence, it was kind of a fake race between Peter and Wendy. But Ever always walked away and left him behind. She then had a “little chat with the stuntmen”, and in the next shot, Ever flew backwards.
But Alexander isn’t the only one Claire has helped, her youngest son, Edward Molony, is also an actor. She supported him in his career since he started first grade.
You may have seen Edward on Ricky Zoom. He was cast as Buster Bunker (grandson of the police bike) for the first series when he was seven years old and was invited to return to star in the second series.
Edward turned 11 in 2023.
In her spare time, Claire, her husband, and their children enjoy traveling the world. The last time we saw them, the Molony family flew to Los Angeles for a Disney fan convention, where they saw trailers, posters, and even an Alexander doll.
