Aimee Sandimés García López de Ordóez was born to a father Héctor from Puerto Rico and a mother Eloise from Mexico in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents went to a Cubs game on her first date and were married three months later. Aimee Garcia’s father, Hector Garcia, is from Puerto Rico. But he was born in San Juan in a poor family. The family moved to the Fort Sheridan military base in Chicago. They didn’t even have indoor plumbing! So her grandfather joined the army to give her children a better life.
