On March 18, 2021, police confirmed that rapper Goonew was shot to death in the 3400 block of Walters Lane in the District Heights neighborhood. He was shot in the back during the robbery and the pendant he wears around his neck was stolen. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died, according to police.
A statement released by police read: “Detectives with the Homicide Unit are working to identify and arrest the suspects who fatally shot a man Friday in unincorporated District Heights.
