Brian’s missing wife previously wrote a letter to the judge saying her husband had a troubled upbringing that contributed to who he is. Ana Walshe said in a 2021 letter that her husband was “taught to lie and hide” to prevent her husband, an art fraud, from serving prison time.

After that, he dropped out of school and never finished it. “Brian felt abandoned, unloved and emotionally damaged because his parents used him as a pawn in his strained marriage,” Ana’s letter read.
Before Thomas passed away in 2018, he and Brian reportedly had a strained relationship, according to their other relatives.

Fred Pescatore wrote that the father “was always clear that he didn’t want his son Brian to inherit anything from him.”
“I can’t imagine Brian having enough money to buy a house because he had to use his mother’s funds to pay legal fees for his federal case in which he is charged and faces prison,” he wrote in his filing.
Fred added: “Brian and Tom’s estrangement was over money, Brian stole Tom’s money and conned him out of nearly a million dollars.” It is unclear if Brian actually stole the million dollars.
