Netflix released its three-part documentary Waco: The American Apocalypse, the story of the infamous 51-day siege pitting the FBI against the self-proclaimed messiah, just in time for the 30th anniversary of the massacre. In its series, Netflix covers the events in detail, including KWTX News reporter John McLemore and footage of the raid captured by his crew.

Meanwhile, John and Dan were completely focused on the action throughout the attack. Finally, when both sides broke the ceasefire after 4 federal agents and 5 Branch Davidians were killed in it. John and his cameraman also helped transport some of the injured in their car and were able to get all the footage safely to the station.
In the days that followed, John became something of a celebrity. As a true eyewitness, he was invited to speak on several shows and was even nominated for an Emmy Award. But it was short-lived as some news channels began falsely accusing him of warning Branch Davidians about the raid. Thus, people began to hold him responsible as an accessory to the murder of federal agents. Things only got worse because he also lost his job and no one wanted to hire him.
Fast forward to 2018, when he was reached out by TexasMonthly, he continued to be wary of the rumors and false accusations that have dogged him for the past 25 years. Still, he said, he has no regrets.

On March 23, 2023, we watched John McLemore explain to his people on Facebook that he had been working with Netflix for the past two years to make a documentary. Hoping everyone will see it, he promised that the project will show a bunch of never-before-seen videos.
