Dance 100, a new reality series, premiered on March 17, 2023. Compared to the dance competitions fans are used to seeing, the format of this competition is unique. The eight best dancers enter the competition, competing against each other to win a large cash prize.
Artists on the show have performed with famous musicians such as Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Lizzo, Cardi B, and Jennifer Lopez. The difference is that these dancers will not be performing; instead, they will be tasked with choreographing a performance for a group of people, testing their skills to the absolute limit.
The show is hosted by Peloton instructor Ally Love, who oversees the competition. Each round is crucial, and the stakes rise as the dancers ultimately decide the fate of the choreographer. As the rounds progress, more and more dancers will join the stage, building to a total of 100 for the grand finale when the winner is awarded $100,000 and the title.

Brandi Chun in Netflix’s Dance 100
One of the contestants joining this competition is Brandi Chun. She designed her first choreography for her performance for herself and seven other dancers. She was able to advance to the next round of 14 dancers thanks to the performance that she followed. This time she avoided double elimination thanks to her skills and she was safe to proceed to the third stage where she was assigned to a team of 20 exceptional dancers.
Brandi stood out throughout the competition and made it to the semifinals. For the penultimate round, each competitor had to prepare two points for a total of 25 dancers. Brandi was given the 1960s for her first dance, which was designed to reflect the decade assigned to the contestant. The dancer’s task was anything but simple as she grew up in the 1990s, but she did her research, believed in her team, and gave the audience an incredible performance.
In the semifinals, Brandi had to come up with a story based on prompts from her second dance. The concept of a newcomer to the underground circus was much more difficult than expected. However, the ambitious choreographer unleashed her creativity and devised a routine that allowed her to shine as a ringleader and make the other dancers shine as well.
Brandi’s place in the finals was secured thanks to her ability to garner over half of the Dance 100 team’s votes through such excellent routines.
Brandi Chun had to prepare two places for 50 and 100 dancers respectively for the final, where she will face Keenan Cooks. Before the preparations, she received messages of support from her family in Hawaii, which gave her extra motivation. As expected, the final performances of the matchup were fantastic. But because of Branda’s leadership skills and her consistency of quality, she won the first season of “Dance 100” with a convincing majority of votes.

Brandy Chun Career
Brandi Chun started dancing at the age of three and trained at 24-7 Danceforce Studio until she was eighteen.
She said embrace your beauty magazine, “My mom put me on Hulu and a movement class when I was in preschool. Apparently, I chose to dance over Hula because I said, “it was too slow” and that was the beginning of what would become my life’s passion and career; Until I was 18 years old, I trained at 24-7 -Danceforce Studio under the tutelage of Marcelo Pacleb and thanks to him I discovered my love for teaching and choreography. I moved to Los Angeles right after graduating to pursue my dreams of becoming a professional dancer.”
She got her first job right out of high school and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional dance career. Her accomplishments include performing in Cirque Du Soleil’s “Michael Jackson ONE,” the “Move Beyond” tour with Julianne and Derek Hough, and the Disney Jr.
Additionally, Brandi has created choreography for brands such as Nissan, WeWork and Rodan + Fields. In addition to traveling the world to educate and engage people through dance, Brandi loves to create. Along with her acting experience, Brandi focuses on teaching, which means a lot to her.
Brandi added in the interview: “Dance is a universal language that has allowed me to find a true connection with so many amazing people. I’m not the best at expressing myself with words, so it was always easier for me to show it with movement. It’s an art form I’ve put my heart and soul into for so many years that it seems selfish to keep what I’ve learned to myself.”
