Haywood Highsmith’s career
One of the few untrained Miami Heat players is Haywood Highsmith. Highsmith regularly featured in the Heat rotation this year, but played little in the post-season.
The 26-year-old striker signed a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat two months after the 2021-22 season. He returned to the NBA G League with the Delaware Blue Coats after not being offered a new contract. Two months later, Heat called back and he agreed to two 10-day contracts.
The Heat rewarded him after his good performance by converting his contract to a regular one. He then agreed to a three-year, $3,945,742 contract with a team option of $1,902,137.
