Bonnie Dupree and Atz Kilcher are former classmates. They met by chance in the late ’70s and traveled across the country, up the coast, landed in the town of Homer, and pitched a tent on the beach, all in just 9 days.
The two then moved into a teepee in the desert with nothing but a wood stove and an attic. Eventually, Bonnie felt comfortable where there were no people in the radius, and she decided to marry Atz.
Since then, the lovebirds have been inseparable. While Bonnie’s screen time may have been cut short in Alaska: The Last Frontier, offscreen she and Atz have often been seen traveling together, most recently in Boston.
The last time we saw them, the duo were vacationing at their Casita in southern Arizona. “On a hike with my wife Bon Bon. I’m going to Telluride Colorado to hang out with my grandson Kase and daughter Jewel,” Atz wrote on his IG at the time.
Later, Atz hosted a concert at the Sheridan Opera House, a fundraiser for Operation Encore, a veterans program, and a local adaptive sports program. His wife was also there.

She traveled the world to sing at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II, sang with Bob Dylan, and performed at the White House for President Clinton.
Surprisingly, Jewel is not in Alaska: The Last Frontier. But he appeared in three episodes in 2016 when he returned to his family’s estate after nearly seven years.
Apart from these three, Atz has another son named Nikos Kilcher who appears on the show. He was also a musician before March 7, 1984.
