The show follows a team of restoration experts, including Dave Weinman, as they work diligently to restore ancient relics at a tool factory, but without informing the owners of those items that they are receiving special restoration treatment.
Dave worked on these objects along with Leah Bolden, PJ Burchett, David Dall, Alfred Dill, Sara Porter and LaTash “LA” Thyme at the show’s “secret factory” supposedly located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. And that could be true because Dave himself tagged the Bridgeport location in a FB post where he is working on a 150 year old gun carriage at the Secret Restoration factory.
“DROP YOUR WEAPONS – Ready. Hundreds of hours of labor, multiple parts made from scratch, dozens of raw castings assembled and finished by hand. Cut of rotten steel and welded new steel. Body work, Bondo, sanding, painting, the list goes on,” he wrote at the time.
In addition, a few days before, he shared some photos of the restoration team and the factory on FB, with the caption: “MORE LIFE IN THE STORE – Gang. I can’t describe how excited I am for this Wednesday. The project I led took hundreds of hours to complete and required reverse engineering 140-year-old parts to make from scratch on a mill and lathe.”
