Drew Longley and Ilaura Reeves have been digging in the dirt for a decade. In love, thanks to their profession, the couple married on November 18, 2017.
The husband and wife were also the stars of the Gold Daughters YouTube channel. There, Ilaura accompanied Drew to “The Boneyard Alaska” to discover ice age fossils and mine for gold. The reason they named the mining area “The Boneyard” was because the density of bones scattered in a small area was about half the size of a football field.
Boneyard Alaska is located on a proprietary gold mine and they added all the bones they found to their private collection. His family owned this property and was not interested in selling the bones.
“This site is purely a product of our family’s passion for finding Ice Age bones. We are collecting them for now. “The bones have not only monetary value, but also scientific value that could help understand the extinction of Ice Age megafauna,” the two explained.
In the last 15 years, however, they have searched an area the size of half a football field.
However, Ilaura is the creative behind Gold Daughters, working more in marketing and spending time taking/editing/posting photos and videos than digging up dirt.

Drew Longley began his career as a baseball player at Sickles HS. There, as a senior, he hit .320 and posted a .992 fielding percentage, including winning Gold Gloves in 2007 and 2006.
In 2008, he took advantage of the “red shirt season.”
And the following year, Drew started 11 games and played in 17 games with a .333 batting record and 12 hits.
In 2010, Drew played 25 games, 13 of which he started at catcher. His record then was a .204 bat in limited action with an impressive .397 on-base percentage.
In 2011, the athlete emerged as the Bulls’ everyday catcher, starting at the position more than 40 times. Playing an incredible 47 games, he hit .234 with four home runs and three doubles while recording 20 RBIs.
2012 continued his breakout seasons with the Bulls, appearing in 52 games in which he collected nine doubles and 19 RBI. He then also finished the season in second place to fellow senior Daniel Rockhold.

Drew then retired and began working full time with his wife at Gold Daughters.
Gold Daughters was founded by Drew’s wife and sister in 2014 with just a small shop to greet customers and sell t-shirts and, of course, cakes. And now the company is big enough to organize several tours for clients interested in touring an authentic gold mining museum and taking part in the history of the Alaskan Gold Rush.
“We want to make sure they have a good time, so we do everything we can to make everyone feel unique and listen to them talk about their trip,” Ilaura said.
They also guarantee that visitors will find gold and have a relaxing time during their visit. Since getting around can be a strenuous activity when you’re squatting by the river all day, Gold Daughters also provides amenities such as benches to make it as comfortable as possible.
