BHU Scholarship for MBBS Students: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will soon introduce a scholarship program for first-year MBBS students with difficult economic circumstances. This program will provide financial support of Rs 25,000 to deserving students during the first week of MBBS course. The scholarship program will be established by donations from BHU alumni.

Ramesh Chandra Gupta, former professor of BHU and former professor and dean of Metallurgical Engineering at IT-BHU (now IIT-BHU), donated Rs 50,000 to his alma mater. A BHU official said, “The new scholarship program of Dr. Bhoj Raj Varma and Smt. The Shanti Varma Memorial Scholarship is named after Gupta’s close relatives. It will be launched by BHU by donating under Pratidana Program”

The donation to the candidates was made as part of the recently launched Pratidan scheme. The plan aims to increase student access to resources, strengthen research infrastructure, and improve the teaching and learning environment at the university. The Pratidan Initiative was launched by BHU Vice Chancellor Sudhir Kumar Jain.

Who will benefit from the BHU scholarship program?

This program is intended to provide support to deserving students who find it difficult to pursue their MBBS courses due to financial constraints. Those who are economically weaker and first-year MBBS students are awarded a scholarship of 25,000 HRK.

The school expresses gratitude to Ramesh Chandra Gupta for his great contributions to the alma mater. This scholarship will motivate others to support the improvement of the university.
