The ICC World Cup is the most prestigious and arguably the largest cricket tournament on the planet. It is watched by millions of viewers around the world, especially in South Asia. The World Cup follows an international format that lasts one day and is held every four years. The next part of the World Cup will be held in India in 2023 and fans are eagerly anticipating even more exciting sporting activities.
Ten of the best teams in the world will enter the tournament and compete to raise the iconic trophy. But the glory of the World Cup doesn’t end with gold and silver trophies. The International Cricket Council (ICC) also awards the Golden Rod (top scorer), the Golden Ball (top catcher), Player of the Tournament and Player of the Match final.
Thus, up to now, there have been 12 World Cup seasons and 12 players have won the ICC Golden Ball award for the most goals in a season. You can check out the full list of ICC World Cup Golden Ball winners from 1975 to 2019 here.
