Chess was a major plot point in the first Harry Potter book and movie, and it lends itself naturally to some of the puzzles in the Hogwarts Legacy. This game is very deep and potentially time-consuming, so instead of asking you to play full games, these puzzles are simply a set scenario for you to solve in one go. However, not everyone is familiar enough with chess to know how to solve them and get to the end of these Treasure Vaults. This is how you can solve all the chess puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy.

There are three chess puzzles to find, all solved using the same basic structure. You have to cast Revelio to find the correct item in the area, cast Transform on it to turn it into a proper chess piece, then use Wingardium Leviosa to move it to the correct spot on the chessboard to checkmate it.
Step 1 – At the Treasure Vault in Lake Marunweem, cast Transform on the chair to make a black knight. Move the knight one space behind the white pawn on the right side of the board.
Step 2: In the Cragoftshire Treasure Vault in the northwest, cast Transform on the chair to make a black knight. Move the jumper one space to the back and one space to the right of the tower.
Step 3: In the treasure vault in North Cragcroftshire, cast Transform on the chair to make a white knight. Move the jumper two spaces ahead of another white jumper.
