West Bengal NMMS Scholarship 2023:  National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) scholarship registrations are midway. Interested candidates can apply on the official website: scholarships.wbsed.gov.in. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education conducts the NMMS exam every year for class 8 students to provide scholarships to economically backward students. 

West Bengal NMMS Scholarship 2023 registration began on June 23, 2023, and will continue till July 25, 2023. Candidates must note that there is no provision to submit the hard copy of the form either in the Directorate of School Education, Bikash Bhavan, or in the office of D.I/S(SE) of any district.

Who is Eligible for West Bengal NMMS Scholarship 2023 Registration?

Students must check out the eligibility requirements before applying:

  • Students of class VIII who secured 55% and above marks in the Final exam of class VII are eligible to appear in the Centrally Sponsored NMMS Exam.
  • Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and State Government-run residential schools or any Private school are not entitled to get a Scholarship. 
  • The students must be studying in recognized Government Schools/Government Aided Schools/Local Bodies and Government Sponsored Schools.
  • The parental income should be below Rs. 3,50,000/- (Rupees three lakh fifty thousand) per annum from all sources.
