The series is explored through the story of Glen and Cary Wingerd, whose teenage daughter, Delaney Wingerd, joins the Fraternity after being recruited by her high school boyfriend.

Delaney continued to see him in private, his parents found scripts Jackson had written as instructions on how to answer questions about Remnant, and church leaders gave him a phone to use. In essence, Delaney was trained to cheat. She was told that in her house there was evil, shadows and darkness.

She also describes on the website that Jackson is her greatest blessing in life because he points her to God in all situations and reminds her to grow in righteousness. She insists that she looks forward to a life with Jackson and a life together in accordance with the words of the Bible.

Delaney Wingerd’s parents are Glen Wingerd (Dad) and Carey Wingerd (Mom) from Brentwood Tennessee.
Married to his wife since 1994, Glen, aged 50 as of August 2021, is currently Director of IT Quality Assurance at Tractor Supply Co; former director of quality assurance and testing at Asurion and also former manager of quality assurance and testing at ERCOT. The Wingerda patriarch once studied for a bachelor’s degree in management information systems at the University of Phoenix and also went to Wichita State University.
