Onome Oyaide, popularly known as Big Tyme, died on Sunday, May 1, according to her friends.
Big Tyme, best known as the host of Rhythm Fm, passed away on International Labor Day.
The cause of death of the favorite person on the airwaves is unknown.
His death was said to be sudden and came as a shock as he had been on Twitter the night before.
His friend, Osi Osuave, confirmed the sad news in a statement: “I am still in shock over Onome’s death. It was fine yesterday as he was even active on social media. It is heartbreaking to learn of his death.”
Banky W once had a line to him in his song where he said, “Like Rhythm FM, I’m so Big Tyme.”
Vector also played with the words in his song with AQ (Distraction): “My beat is doing it big, Onome Oyaide.”
Until he died, Onome Oyaide was crowned by Osi as one of the most influential radio hosts of my generation.
