Wizkid Was Paid $1 Million To Headline Rolling Loud Toronto 2022

Wizkid was paid $1 million to headline Rolling Loud Toronto this year, which is a huge sum by any measure, but it’s a huge win for Afrobeat when you consider that Davido was reportedly paid a similar amount to act in the draw for the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.

Wizkid, the biggest musician in African music history, was very excited to share with his fans on Tuesday how much he was paid by the organizers of Rolling Loud Toronto.

Last year, Wizkid earned $9.3 million from his concerts in the United States and London.

The Canadian edition of Rolling Loud will take place at Ontario Place in Toronto from September 9-11. Dave, Future, and Wizkid are among the headliners, with Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Roddy Ricco, Trippie Redd, Lil Yachty, A Boogie Wit Da Hoody, and more also headlining.

Rolling Loud unveiled the lineup for its 2022 event in Miami last month, featuring Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, and Future.

Wizkid is the only Nigerian musician among the many superstars set to play at the September show.

DaBaby’s performance at the festival last year was universally criticized when the rapper made offensive statements against HIV/AIDS patients and the LGBT community.

This month, Burna Boy will perform at Madison Square Garden, while in November, Davido will perform at the opening ceremony of Qatar 2022. It’s all a victory for Nigeria and Afrobeat.
