Wizkid, the 31-year-old superstar, has lost both of his 2022 Grammy nominations.
He lost the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance to Arooj Aftab’s “Mohabbat” and Best Global Music Album to Angelique Kidjo’s “Mother Nature.”
Fans on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms are now claiming that Wizkid’s award was rigged by the Grammys.
It reminds me of Nigerian politics, when the real candidate is on the street trying to win over the voters, while his opponent uses hashtags to win the election.

Why Wizkid Didn’t Win The 2022 Grammys
With Made in Lagos, Wizkid has already achieved a lot and broken countless records. With over 4,100 album-equivalent units sold, it debuted at number 15 on the UK Albums Chart and number 80 on the US Billboard 200 with over 10,000 album-equivalent units. The album sold an additional 17,000 units in the United States after the deluxe edition was released, peaking at number 28 on the Billboard 200.
The album has won Wizkid more than 135 awards in the past year and received two Grammy nominations.
Wizkid, for his part, flopped his first assignment to win a Grammy. Instead he went into public relations, the same mistake Burna Boy made the first time before he got involved with P Diddy. Angelique Kidjo has never advertised on the internet before.
