Desmond Elliot is often trending on social media for saying or doing something that results in people trolling him. The actor-turned-politician is currently being mocked for five things he has done as a representative of the Surulere constituency in the Lagos House of Assembly.
1. He supported the law to regulate social networks
In October 2020, Desmond Elliot reportedly defended a plan to control speech on social media with a bill in the House of Assembly.
2. He called young Nigerians “kids”
After being mocked by young Nigerians for supporting the Social Media Regulation Act, he reacted by calling them “kids.”
3. He had a wooden bridge built.
After two years in office, Desmond Elliot, Member of Parliament for Surulere 1 in the Lagos State Legislative Assembly, commissioned the construction of the famous “Pako Bridge”, also known as the wooden bridge at Surulere.
4. Ordered a non-standard public toilet
A former Nollywood actor and director built and commissioned a substandard public toilet in his constituency.
5. He asked for a bucket to wash his hands with a tap
During the COVID-19 outbreak, he gave his constituency a bucket to wash their hands with a tap.
That is why now everyone says that he is the cause of all the problems in Nigeria.
