Last year, Niantic released a set of features that made it easy to pokemon go player who will play from home. The developer allowed players to access raid battles from their couches instead of rushing to meet other players in one place. However, the biggest change in gameplay came with Go Battle League. Previously, this feature required players to walk a whopping three kilometers to participate.
Niantic is now reverting these changes and others that allow players to access Pokéstops. Speaking with Polygon, the company explained that “Getting out there and spinning PokéStops and Gyms is important to our mission because it encourages exploration of the world. These places are local points of interest in the community and can be historical landmarks, art installations, local businesses, and more.”

However, COVID-19 is not gone yet. The new Delta variant of the virus, which has been shown to be more transmissible and can infect even vaccinated people, is currently spreading across the US. It is worth noting that most victims of this version of the virus are unvaccinated and that vaccinated people are significantly less likely to be hospitalized or severely ill. Regardless, the virus is still here and poses a sufficiently clear and present danger that several US states are strengthening mask mandates. Some are taking precautions a step further, like New York City, where New York City shoppers are barred from entering movie theaters, gyms or restaurants without proof of vaccinations.
However, Niantic is determined to revert its changes from COVID to pokemon goand as a result, players started Pokémon No Day.
