In an IG post from August 2017, Ree explained that she has a nickname for her Stu which is ‘Tooie’. He would sometimes go further and call him Tooie Booie. However, as he was over 18, Ree told him that he would stop using the nickname ‘Tooie Booie’, which only lasted for nine minutes.

Stu Smith, best known as the son of siblings Rea Drummond, Doug Smith, and Suzanne Holland, is a frequent social media presence for food bloggers and writers.
Doug worked as a Portfolio Manager/Trader at Beal Bank from 2008 to 2010. From 2006 to 2008, he worked for Highland Capital Management, LP as a Senior Portfolio Analyst. He also worked for Beal Bank as a bond broker, a senior portfolio manager at Microsoft and a manager at Williams Energy.

Meet Stu Smith’s father, Doug Smith
Stu Smith’s father is Doug Smith. He is one of Rea Drummond’s three siblings. Doug and Ree also have a sister named Betsy Smith and a late brother named Michael Smith. Four siblings were born to mother Gerre Smith and orthopedic surgeon father William Smith.
Doug’s parents ended their marriage after 33 years after she fell in love with the family pastor. Before they were married, her stepfather, Reverend Doug, worked as a pastor at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Also, they now reportedly live in Tennessee.
Doug’s sister Ree, who is in the public eye, opened up about her mother’s second marriage. She explained it as a difficult experience in her life. She also labeled her mother as the “villain” who dropped the bombshell on her family. Gerre filed for divorce in October 2026.
On October 31, 2021, Doug, Ree, and Betsy lost their brother Michael Smith in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In a statement written by Ree, she revealed: “It’s not possible to sum up the life of someone as wonderful as my brother Michael, so I won’t try now.”

Meet Stu Smith’s mother, Suzanne Holland
Suzanne Holland was born to mother Donna Axum Whitworth and J. Bryan Whitworth of Fort Worth, Texas. Her parents were married in 1982. She lost her mother on November 4, 2018 at the age of 76.
Donna was born on January 3, 1942 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Idella and Hurley Axum. She graduated from El Dorado High School and went on to earn her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Her love of music and her talent as a singer led Donna to win the title of Miss Arkansas and then to the crowning of Miss America in 1964.
Over the years, she has developed a career as a television personality, professional broadcaster, author, and college professor. Donna received a presidential appointment to serve on the President’s Advisory Board on the Arts at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, DC
In addition, Donna is a past president of the Texas Cultural Trust and chair of the board of directors of Texas Women for the Arts. In Fort Worth, Donna served on the Board of Directors of the Van Cliburn Foundation, the Executive Board of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and the Advisory Board of the Texas Christian University College of Fine Arts.
Donna was also the first Miss America to be elected to the Miss America Board of Directors.
In addition, Suzanne’s father, J. Bryan Whitworth, worked as a lawyer and a former oil company executive. He was born in Louisiana and attended the University of Alabama as an undergraduate (1954-1958) and law school (1959-1961).
After graduation, Bryan went to work for Phillips Petroleum of Bartlesville, Oklahoma (now ConocoPhillips) and became Executive Vice President and General Counsel – Government Relations and Human Resources to the Executive Directors of the Legal and Administrative Offices.
In addition, Bryan retained the position after the Phillips and Conoco merger, but retired in 2005. He is currently an attorney with Wachtell, Lipton, Rozen and Katz, a New York law firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions. Whitworth’s father, JB “Ears” Whitworth, was the head football coach at the University of Alabama from 1954 to 1958.
Suzanne has two sisters; Elizabeth and her husband Todd Forgan, of Dallas, TX; and Cathy and her husband, Alex Jordan, of Little Rock, AR. Suzanne and Cathy started a business together called Naftash’s daughter (as Air B&B) in Pawhuska. Cathy is the creative side of the business.
