EndSARS: Genevieve Nnaji Writes An Open Letter To President Buhari

Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has written an open letter to President Buhari, asking him to disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The timeless producer began by recounting her niece’s encounter at the hands of officials from the Special Anti-Theft Squad (SARS).

Genevieve said she was “tired and tired of being optimistic about change.”

He urged Buhari to act and order his troops to “withdraw”.

“Mr. President, it is time for leadership,” he added.

In the caption, he wrote: “Enough is enough. We are better than this. #endsars #endsarsbrutalness.”

“SAPS harassed my niece because she was carrying a laptop. Own laptop. She was slapped just for asking why her laptop was confiscated. At just 13 years old, she had to face police brutality. There were complaints but nothing was done. No one is saved and we are all affected. President, this is the current state of your country. The stability of a nation depends to a large extent on leadership. And every head of the family has an opportunity to build their legacy. Sir, you had two. What our country is today is a reflection of his leadership. your legacy I’m getting tired of being optimistic about change, but I still can’t complain. I’m one of the privileged few, but that doesn’t mean I have to give up now. So I’ll talk.”

“Mr. President, it’s time for leadership. I continue to be saddened by the fact that my country is just an incubator of greatness, not a habitat. The world obviously moves on. With or without us. What will your legacy be when everyone is said and done? I fight so that mine leaves a mark, not a scar. I invite you to talk to us because we are not mind readers. Your house is not in order and it is far from stable. People do not empower themselves , nor protect themselves. Industries like entertainment and technology that currently drive our economy and empower our youth are frustrated. Everyone under your regime. WE ARE NOT ALL CRIMINALS and should not be treated as such. If there is an increase in crime, is is the result of an increase in poverty. Honestly, we no longer know the difference between criminals and law enforcement. While there are clearly good people in the police force, the bad guys dwarf them. The lack of courage for human life in our country is daunting and heartbreaking.”

“We would have less crime if we had more job opportunities. There would be fewer criminals and it would be easier to catch them. The police should be our friend and not our enemy. We need the police to work with us, not against us. Contrary to what you may believe, Mr. President, we are not lazy. We are underutilized. Leaders come and go, but we the people will remain. We will survive. We always are. But we won’t forget it. Right now, your administration stands in the way of our survival. If the country doesn’t want to be great, the least it can do is let us be great ourselves. President, you are the commander in chief. I beg you to command your troops. to remove. Sincerely, Genevieve Nnaji #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality”
