The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies are set to collide in the 2022 World Series. It’s baseball, so there’s drama. (And we’re not just talking about the argument for a lifetime ban from the Astros.) The Phillies are in their first postseason since 2011, never mind going all the way to the Finals.
Okay, yes. This will be good. And that’s exactly what you want to see in the best possible resolution.
Live TV is still pretty hard to find in 4K. But sports paved the way for that. And before you try to throw the word “improved” at us, stop. Of course, even if it’s not really end-to-end 4K, the simple fact is that if you’ve watched any sport in 4K on your TV, you’ll want more. Whether it’s football, soccer or baseball.
And you can watch this year’s World Series in 4K, from Game 1 on Friday night through the best-of-seven series finale, on Fox at various locations. It really is the best way to watch the game, especially since Fox often pulls some frame rate shenanigans on its standard definition broadcasts. The full 4K screen does it well, in HDR, and it’s really cool.
And that’s before you consider that the series started off strong, with the Phillies trailing by five runs in the bottom of the third inning before tying the game just two innings later. But JT Realmuto needed a 346-foot home run in the 10th: free baseball! – to complete.

If you’re streaming your TV show live, chances are you’re streaming it on YouTube TV. It is the most popular streaming service in the US, with more than 5 million subscribers at the last count. And YouTube TV has a 4K option.
But you will have to pay a little more for that privilege. The full price is $20 per month, which is definitely more than the basic subscription of $65 per month, which gives you over 100 channels. But you will get a free trial that covers the first 30 days. And that will help you get through the whole World Cup. FuboTV is one of the smaller live TV streamers, but it is growing and is now in fourth place with around 1.22 million subscribers. It was also the first streaming service to offer live sports in 4K, which it still does today.
FuboTV starts at $70 per month for 113 channels, 1,000 hours of recording, and the ability to watch on up to 10 screens at home. There’s also a seven-day free trial, which will allow you to play at least five World Cup matches, as long as one team doesn’t clean.
There is also a huge variety of add-ons with FuboTV, many of which will give you access to sports that can’t be found anywhere else.
FuboTV is available on all major streaming platforms, web browsers, smart TVs, and gaming consoles.

The World Series is also available on the Fox Sports app. This will require a subscription to some other service, be it cable, satellite, or streaming. Or, if we’re completely honest and give a good wink, it will require subscription access.
From there, you’ll simply log into the Fox Sports app on whatever platform you’re using, whether it’s phones and tablets, a web browser, or a streaming platform like Roku and Amazon Fire TV. It is also available on smart TVs.
This will be a good option for many people who don’t normally subscribe to any cable or satellite streaming services, but know someone who does.
