In the Haute-Savoie region, the incidence rate of the new coronavirus is the fourth highest among the departments of metropolitan France.
After Annecy, Chamonix and Megève, the Haute-Savoie department makes it mandatory for people over the age of 11 to wear masks in some frequented outdoor places, such as markets, flea markets or garage sales, the prefecture told the department on Tuesday.

The Prefect of Haute-Savoie, Pierre Lambert, on Monday issued an order restricting movement without a mask in those outdoor areas “in view of the development of the situation regarding the epidemic in the department,” according to a press release.

This restriction also applies to “meetings, gatherings or activities in which more than ten people participate simultaneously on public roads or in a place open to the public, and in respect of which the organizers are subject to the obligation to inform”.
