How to show and hide slides in Google Slides

When you create or import a slideshow, you may end up with slides that you don’t want to show, but you don’t necessarily want to delete either. Maybe you just want to temporarily hide a slide in a Google Slides presentation.

Although it’s not an obvious feature, you can hide a slide and show it again later in just a few steps.

How to hide a slide in Google Slides

After visiting Google Slides, signing in, and opening your presentation, you can hide a slide using skip slide characteristic. Also, you can do this in any view.

Step 1 – Select the slide you want to hide.

  • In the Filmstrip, which places slide thumbnails on the left side, select a slide to highlight it.
  • In Grid view, which displays slide thumbnails in a grid layout, select a slide to highlight it.
  • In normal view, which shows only one slide at a time, press Above either below arrow on the keyboard or move around with the mouse or trackpad until you land on the slide.

Step 2: Go to slide eyelash.

Step 3: Choose skip slide.

Skip a slide in the slide menu.

Step 4 – Alternatively, you can right-click a slide in the filmstrip or grid view and select skip slide in A shortcut Menu.

When you skip a slide, this places an eye icon with a line through it, hiding it from the presentation.

You can still work on or move the slide that you skip in the slide show. This allows you to keep it out of the presentation but continue editing it.

How to hide multiple slides

If you have more than one slide that you want to hide from your presentation, you can skip multiple slides at once. This saves you from manually going through the slides one by one.

Step 1: Show the filmstrip with View > show filmstrip or enter grid view using View > grid view.

Step 2 – Select the slides you want to hide to highlight them.

  • To select adjacent slides, select the first one and hold down Change button and select the last one.
  • To select non-adjacent slides, select the first one and hold down Control on windows or Domain on the Mac and select each additional slide.

Step 5: Alternatively, you can right-click on one of the slides and select skip slides in A shortcut Menu.

You will then see an icon with an eye and a line on each slide you skipped. These slides are not displayed when you present your slideshow.
