Due to financial and health risks, the festival will take place in Parc Courneuve this year. Another way is being considered.

The traditional Festival of Humanity, which the left-wing newspaper organizes every year, will not take place this year, the newspaper’s editor Patrick Le Hyaric announced on Monday. “Due to health, financial and legal risks, we are forced to give up holding a party, even a small one, in the Parc de la Courneuve”, he explains.

The director first tried to secure the event by reducing the number of visitors to 20,000 per day (compared to 300,000) or increasing the budget by 100,000 euros to deal with health needs, but without success. This is the first time since launch that the event has been unable to take place.

The festival of humanity could still take place, but in another way, in mid-September. Mini-cultural events or debates can be held throughout the Paris region, the editor of the newspaper also explains. An appeal for donations to offset the losses has been launched, and nearly €500,000 has already been pledged for the canceled festival.
