A GoFundMe started by her sisters said Jackie was “immediately found by her husband, Austin, and rushed to the emergency room,” adding that she underwent “an emergency C-section and brain surgery at the same time.”
“Twelve days after this incident, Jackie remains in a medically induced coma and has undergone five separate brain procedures,” their statement continued. “Jackie is expected to remain in intensive care for weeks and will be hospitalized for months. The girl remained in intensive care after 12 days due to the traumatic events of her birth.
GoFundMe also added: “Jackie’s husband and family have not left her since the incident. They navigate caring for a newborn in the intensive care unit while fighting to keep Jackie alive.”
