Reality TV producers are getting more creative these days. Remember the stripper Magic Mike from the 2012 hit movie of the same name?
Well, HBO Max has assembled a bunch of hot guys to battle it out (in strip dance routines) to become the next Magic Mike. This means they will win a huge cash prize and have the opportunity to perform on the Magic Mike Live stage in Las Vegas.
Matthew Merlin Leon is one of the ten contestants on the show. During an interview with E! Merlin said online that he had never done a striptease before and had never thought about it. So when he auditioned, he didn’t think he’d get in, but when he did, Merlin said, he felt “unstoppable.”
Merlin already has some experience in dancing. He used to be a stage actor and worked in musicals. However, Merlin said that musical theater dancing is very different from striptease dancing.
During the show, Merlin displayed his fire-spinning abilities. He was also a good ukulele player.
Since filming wrapped on Finding Magic Mike, Merlin has actually been “taking care of [his] body to be even better than [he] he was on the show.” He has also worked on local film and theater projects in Denver.
