Halloween Ends ending explained

The third and final Halloween film from director David Gordon Green, halloween is ending, finally opened in both theaters and the Peacock, ending the decades-long battle between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers once and for all (at least for now). As the second film in Green’s rebooted trilogy, halloween is ending it left critics and audiences split down the middle. Despite this, the movie still offers a thrilling final battle between the Scream Queen and the fearsome Shape. In case some readers are still curious about this movie, here’s a breakdown of what could be the final conclusion to the Halloween saga.

The film begins on October 31, 2019, one year after the events of halloween kills. Since then, the townspeople have become furious and paranoid after Michael disappeared without a trace. While high school senior Corey Cunningham babysits a boy named Jeremy, he traps him in the attic in a bad prank. But when Corey tries to escape, he accidentally kicks the boy off the balcony, causing him to fall to his death just as his parents return home.

The film then jumps three years later to 2023, where Laurie tries to get over her traumatic past with Michael by writing a memoir while living with her orphaned granddaughter Allyson. Meanwhile, Corey has become an outcast in Haddonfield due to Jeremy’s tragic accident, and is mercilessly attacked and scorned by almost everyone in town. This abuse is caused in part because the townspeople did not recover from Michael’s rampage, instead choosing to redirect his anger onto the new Boogeyman while the old one is nowhere to be found.

Allyson fell for Corey after meeting him at the hospital where he works, and tried to give him a good time by taking him to a costume party. Unfortunately, Jeremy’s mother, who is still grieving the death of her son, chases Corey out of the house and is later thrown off a bridge by bullying teens. If that wasn’t enough for poor Corey, Michael Myers shows up and drags him down to his sewer lair as a dancing Pennywise the Clown. Although Corey wakes up and escapes from Michael’s lair, he stabs a homeless man outside who tries to attack him with a knife. From that moment on, he begins to walk a dark path.

Much like Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, Corey is so consumed by his anger at being mistreated by the townspeople that he turns evil as well. He then teams up with Michael to kill the people in Haddonfield who hurt him and Allyson. This starts with Corey luring Allyson’s ex-boyfriend into Michael’s lair to get back at him for bullying him. Ultimately, Corey dons his own mask and carries out the murders himself, becoming like Michael. transformed into the ruthless killer that everyone had painted him for so long.

Recognizing the evil growing in Corey, Laurie becomes suspicious and tries to keep him away from Allyson when the two start dating. However, Corey decides to leave Haddonfield and Allyson, who is also fed up with the town, agrees to go with him. Laurie tries to stop her from going with him, saying that Corey has become like Michael, but Allyson refuses to believe her. She even goes so far as to blame Laurie for all of Michael’s deaths, because she was unable to kill him in the past.

At the same time, Corey turns on Michael and steals his mask so he can wear it during the next kill. After killing many more people in town, including teenage bullies, a radio DJ, and her own overbearing mother, Corey breaks into Laurie’s house and tries to kill her so he can be with Allyson. Laurie catches Corey off guard with a fake suicide attempt and overpowers him. But in a shocking twist, Corey stabs himself in the throat when Allyson arrives to make it look like Laurie killed him, causing Allyson to leave Laurie.

Though Laurie appears to have hit rock bottom, Michael enters the house to unmask Corey, whom he promptly kills by snapping his neck, and she engages in a final showdown with her mortal enemy. After such a brutal battle, Laurie manages to pin Michael to the table, pin him under the refrigerator, remove his mask, and slit his throat. And though Michael tries to strangle Laurie and take her with him, Allyson comes back and breaks her arm, and they both finish the job by slashing Michael’s wrist and leaving him to bleed out.

And with that, Michael Myers is finally dead. But that’s not enough for the people of Haddonfield. After the police arrive on the scene, they all decide to give everyone an end by having everyone see Michael’s body as they drive through town. And to really confirm that their Boogeyman is dead once and for all, everyone watches as Laurie grinds Michael’s body up in a car crusher.

With Haddonfield finally at peace, Laurie finishes writing her memoirs, and Allyson leaves town to live her own life. Despite being left with an empty nester, Laurie strikes up a conversation with her crush, Police Chief Frank Hawkins, hinting that her relationship will develop into something more. The film ends with a shot of Laurie’s office, with Michael’s mask on the table, revealing that she kept it as a memento of her victory. And as they say goodbye, Blue Oyster Cult”(Fear not) reaper” plays in the background like a callback to how the song was used in the original John Carpenter movie.
