The image shows the auburn-haired Tabitha posing with two friends at a Beyoncé-themed event at De Helling nightclub in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

At first glance, it looks like a group of friends posing for a happy photo on the dance floor.

But look a little closer, and Tabitha appears to have an unusually long right arm that reaches out over her friends.

The optical illusion has baffled social media users as they try to discover the true owner of the missing hand.

Sharing the photo online, Eleanor wrote: “My sister’s arm looks like 6ft long in this club pic, I’m crying.”

Since then, it has received more than 600 likes and 100 people have retweeted it.

Eleanor told The Sun Online that she was surprised by the amount of attention the photo received.

“I can’t track who the hand belongs to,” one Twitter user complained, while another added: “This is brilliant… 20 minutes later and I’m still confused.”

“Damn it took me ages to see that,” wrote one confused viewer.

Eleanor told The Sun Online that she was surprised the image had gotten so much attention.

“I thought people would find it funny at first glance, but I wasn’t expecting this!” she said.

Eleanor's post was liked by more than 600 Twitter users.

Tabitha actually has her arm around her friend’s back, which means her arm is out of sight.

The hand on the left side of the image belongs to the dark-haired girl on the other side of the young man.

The unusual angle of his hand and the fact that the three friends are wearing black caused an optical illusion.

But this is not the first optical illusion to hit the Internet.

Amateur photographer Adam Newport captured a poisonous spider hiding in the grass, but can you see it?

Last week, a similar photo circulated, featuring a cunning poisonous snake hiding among a bunch of leaves.
