Nigeria Ore Road Helicopter ‘Picked Up Stroke Victim’

Luxury brand Julian’s Luxury appears to have been one of the first to spread the idea that the video showed the billionaire walking out of a traffic jam.

“Royal luxury lifestyle… power of money… picking up a VIP stuck in traffic on the Lagos Benin highway,” it read.

Another rumor that spread was that the helicopter was rescuing the billionaire’s girlfriend.

This theory was put forward by actor Deyemi Okanlawon, who further condemned the act as “lawlessness”.

Three days later, on Wednesday, Nigeria’s civil aviation authority said it had launched an investigation into the incident.

Femi Adeniji of Tropical Arctic Logistics Ltd told the BBC he was not sure why the video had caused such a stir.

He said that it is normal for his company to respond to emergency situations, since there is no such public emergency service, and they have done so six times in the last two months.

He said there was no truth to speculation that the helicopter was called in by a billionaire who wanted to escape a heavy traffic jam.

Instead, he said the man suffered from high blood pressure and his driver panicked.

A medic who was also stuck in traffic helped the man and a helicopter was called.

He landed on the Ore Road which connects the South West with the South of Nigeria.
