Alex Bazzell met Napheesa Collier when she was a senior in high school. Soon, her Alex became her full-time coach when she became a freshman athlete at the University of Connecticut. However, the two only started dating after Napheesa became a junior in 2016.
After nearly 3 years of happily ever after, the couple got engaged in October 2019. The engagement took place while the two were walking through Central Park when Alex suddenly got down on one knee and pulled out a diamond ring.

However, the news of Napheesa’s pregnancy came as a “shock” to Alex. Similarly, Napheesa claimed that it did come as a surprise, but “what do you say, does God laugh when people make plans?” she added.
