Nicki Minaj Reveals She Has A Documentary & Film Role In Development

Nicki Minaj talks about the status of her new documentary and character development for the upcoming film in a new interview. “I’ll let you guys know when it’s ready…” she said in response to her doc update. “Yes, I’m working on a movie with a director right now… I can’t wait to tell people about it, I’m very excited about it. It’s a bigger role than I’ve ever had. It’s a deeper role than I’ve ever played. I mean, time’s up, isn’t it? I can’t just play those superficial roles.”

In 2020, on the 10th anniversary of the release of Minaj’s studio album Pink Friday, Minaj announced the production of a six-part documentary series about her life and career that will premiere on HBO Max. Since then, its arrival has been eagerly awaited by many devotees. It’s unclear if her upcoming documentary will still premiere on the streaming service, but Minaj adds to the mystery by mentioning a lead role she could take on in the future. While many details are yet to be revealed, anticipation for the documentary’s arrival remains high, with Minaj confirming that the film will continue to be in development.
