The dancer shared her news on Instagram on Friday night.

On Friday, she took part in an Instagram live chat with the cancer charity CoppaFeel! and shared the heartbreaking news of her.

She said doctors found more tumors when she had an MRI and other cancers, and her latest news means she will now undergo chemotherapy.

Amy said: “For me, my journey, everything changed. Originally I was supposed to have a lumpectomy, radiation therapy and hormone treatment.”

“But then after my MRI they found another tumor that changed to a mastectomy, and then after my mastectomy, unfortunately, they found more tumors.

“And my pathology was not what they expected, they found another type of cancer and then they told me that I needed chemotherapy, it was a great blow for me.

“It wasn’t in the plan, originally, and I know of a plan that you can’t get hung up on.

“Then I suddenly understood and you freak out, but the oncologist said that with chemotherapy I have a good chance of being cured.

“I was really scared and I didn’t want to go to chemo, but then I saw someone like you (Erin) carry on and for me it was immediately my dance, like, you can take my boob off but you can’t take my dance away and that’s what really bothers me.”

Amy hoped to be well enough to compete in Strictly later this year.

She continued: “This year means I won’t be able to dance with a celebrity on Strictly, but I am in such regular contact with the team. The BBC have been absolutely amazing.”

“We’re just one big family and I’m going to lead them, and there are so many ways to get involved in the show.

“I stay very positive and I hope to continue to be a part of the show in some way and my goal is to continue dancing. The oncologist told me that movement is very, very good for people undergoing chemotherapy, it’s important. That was encouraging.”

Amy added: “So it’s been hard for me to accept that I have to go through chemotherapy and what it entails, hair loss and all that, but I’m determined to stay as healthy as I can be.”

The brave star thanked her followers in her Instagram Stories after revealing the latest news.

She wrote: “I just want to thank everyone for your love and support.

“I will approach this next step to the best of my ability and am so blessed to have the love and support of my family and friends by his side, thank you!

“The rest of the year looked very different than planned, but I look forward to going into 2024 cancer free and never taking anything for granted and vowing to live life to the fullest.”

Amy previously admitted that she never checked her boobs enough, but revealed that she participated in CoppaTrek! A walk of hers last June led to the discovery of her own cancer.

She first found the lump in April, the day before she was leaving on her honeymoon with her husband and colleague Ben Jones.

She said in May: “If I can try to turn this negative into a positive, it will help me get through this.”
