Judge Baiden founded Love Renaissance (LVRN) in 2012 along with four others, Carlon Ramong, Junia Abaidoo, Sean Famoso McNichol and Tunde Baloga, whom he met while attending Georgia and Kennesaw State Universities.
Initially, the idea to start a record label was born after a mutual friend introduced Justice to Sean. At the time, Justice already had an artist named Raury that he wanted to release. So, as Sean and Tunde were kids in school with one foot in the music industry, the trio clicked immediately.
They explained that the concept of a “love revival” came from “justice’s belief that there was only a lack of love or that the concept of being in love or falling in love sounded so far away.” The name appeared in the midst of the “trap epidemic”, wanting to bring balance to the music industry.
His first client was Raury. They then added prominent acts like 6lack, DRAM, Boogie, and Summer Walker to their roster, giving them huge popularity.
His only opponent at the time was Interscope. “Whenever we dated another artist, Interscope was always in a race, or a bidding war, to be a part of that artist’s career,” they shared.
So at one point, after they had “enough money in their pockets”, they made a deal with Interscope.
The publisher considered DTP’s Chaka Zulu, Jeff Dixon and Paris Kirk as mentors.
According to Justice, they have always been a company of artists first. Not only commercially, but they also focused on the mental health and financial education of their artists.
In November 2020, LVRN released their first Christmas compilation, “Home for the Holidays”, which featured nine songs by LVRN artists.
