A Kickstarter campaign has just been launched for a smart fan that includes a clock, Bluetooth speaker, light, and charging port. The Haxson Bladeless AirFan includes a heating mode, a formaldehyde sensor, and a purifier, while maintaining a fairly slim profile. A HEPA filter must be able to stop contaminants such as dust, smoke, pollen, and odors.
In terms of audio, AirFan uses Bluetooth 5.0 and works well with Alexa and Google Assistant. This allows you to ask AirFan to dim a light, set an alarm, or respond to nonsense that keeps you up in the middle of the night. It will also include what Haxson calls “sleep coach technology.” Even if it’s as simple as a white noise generator, it could be useful for restless sleepers.
If fiddling with your phone for simple functions is too much of a hassle for you, the AirFan also comes with a hardware remote. From here you can adjust the fan, clock brightness, LED light, and more.
Although the AirFan is mostly placed next to the bed, the slim, sleek design makes it equally useful on the desk or anywhere else you need to add temperature control.
The ability to manage your personal microclimate with products like the Haxson AirFan can be a great way to mitigate additional home heating and cooling costs. When you sleep, you don’t need to have the whole house at a certain temperature, you just need to take care of the bedroom. Using less energy to heat or cool that unused space also means helping the environment. Of course, if you need cooling on the go, you can always wrap a portable fan around your neck.
