The best places to land in Warzone: Vondel, Al Mazrah, and Ashika Island

even if you are an expert call of duty: war zone player, your performance during any match can be determined by where you land. If you’re unlucky with the relegation spot, your team could be gone in no time. Likewise, a less experienced player might do well if he lands away from the action.

But with so many potential landing spots, it’s not always easy to choose a landing spot, especially if you’re new to the game. Fortunately, we have provided you with everything you need to know.

These are the best landing spots in all three War zone maps, including Vondel, Al Mazrah and Ashika Island.

vondel

Central Station

Vondel map in Warzone.Vondel in Warzone.

If you’re a player who likes to gear up first without worrying too much about running into opponents, landing at the main station is usually a safe bet. Sure, you can find enemy players here from time to time, but this area is so large that it’s often easy to take them down, especially if you coordinate with your team.

floating district

Vondel map in Warzone.ActivisionVondel in Warzone.Activision

The Floating District is similar to the previous scenario in that it’s out of the way, but it’s often a bit more contested. The thing about this location is that while it’s usually not too hot early on, enemy teams often like to rotate here throughout the game. Keep that in mind if you decide to land here.

south of the market

Vondel map in Warzone.ActivisionVondel in Warzone.Activision

On the other hand, if you are one of those who like spiciness, we advise you to land south of Market. Here you will find numerous buildings with tons of loot to collect. It’s much more action-packed, but if you survive, you’ll be in good shape to dominate the match.

police station

The previous landing spot south of the Marketplace can be a bit difficult, so if you like some action without feeling overwhelmed, the Police Station is a great option. While it can get a bit busy here, you’ll usually have this area to yourself, allowing you to prepare before going into combat.

zoo

Vondel map in Warzone.Vondel in Warzone.

The zoo is an interesting location because it is inconsistent in terms of whether or not other players land there. With that in mind, we recommend choosing this landing spot if you are confident in your abilities. The main reason we recommend this spot is because it has an absurd amount of loot, which means you’ll be able to get your loadout out quickly, as long as you survive against other teams.

Al Mazra

Quarry

Quarry in Warzone.Activation

We’ll start with a familiar location that’s been reworked from the ground up. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for war zone 2.0. The Quarry is located on the northeast side of the map and is a wide and sprawling array of structures that allows teams to loot something before jumping right into the action if you play smart. You’re probably not the only team to claim this location, but it’s certainly big enough for multiple teams to land and grab the starting weapon before taking on someone else. The loot itself is generally mediocre, but perfectly useful to get you started before moving on to more dangerous places.

sawah village

Location of Sawah Village in Warzone 2.0..

This area is tucked away on the coast, where most people generally don’t want to go. This is their loss though, as any team that gets knocked out will usually have free access to loot from around the area. But the real advantage of Sawah Village is its proximity to Stronghold. Once you’re ready and safe after landing, you can immediately get higher loot by raiding the Stronghold, which shouldn’t be crowded with other equipment.

Sarrif Bay

Sariff Bay location in Warzone 2.0.

Sarrif Bay is a lot like Taraq Village in that it doesn’t initially seem like a place anyone would want to go to, but it secretly has some nice advantages. For one, it’s close enough to the airport and fortress, which are very hot places to go that most other teams will prioritize. If your team can set up quickly, you can use this position to clear out weakened teams fighting in the area from an elevated position. It is a bit more dangerous than the previous options. However, there are many opportunities to escape.

Observatory

Location of the Observatory in Warzone 2.0.

Essentially in the center of the map, the Observatory is a riskier option, but a huge tactical advantage if you can take advantage of it. Not only is the loot great, but the location and elevation make it great for exploration and the perfect place to turn depending on how you decide to close the circle. If you go down here, just know you’re in for a fight, so give yourself the best chance of winning those initial fights by securing the high ground and rooftops.

eastern suburbs

The Eastern Suburbs is the largest single location on the entire Al Mazrah map, with the possible sole exception of Al Mazrah City itself, making it a hot spot to land on and also the safest in that category, as you have plenty of room to veer off course if you wish. It’s full of everything you could possibly need, from weapons, armor, and even gas stations to a store and hospital. The best thing about this location is that you can dictate how dangerous you want it to be. You can try to get to one of the main spots there and secure an early fight, or pick a spot on the outskirts and fight your way in after the other teams start dueling.

The city of Al Mazra

Location of the city of Al Mazrah in Warzone 2.0.

Finally, there is the namesake of the map in the city of Al Mazrah. If you land here, you better look for some immediate action because that’s what you’ll get. Unless something crazy happens, this will be the most popular place in all of the games. The loot here is some of the best you can find on the map, and the stakes are quite high. That’s assuming you and your team live long enough to get your hands on it. There really isn’t a safe place to land here, thanks to the skyscrapers that provide great sniping positions and plenty of buildings for teams to flank and traverse through. Unless you and your crew are super confident or just want a quick and chaotic party, maybe try one of the less risky places.

Ashika Island

Currently, as of Season 4, Ashika Island is unavailable as it has been temporarily replaced by Vondel. Ashika Island is likely to return, but there is no official information yet.

Underground tunnel

Underground tunnel in Warzone 2.0.Underground tunnel in Warzone 2.0.

There is an underground tunnel filled with water throughout the island of Ashika, with several paths branching off. There are actually several ways to access this area, but the easiest and fastest way is through the tunnel on the west side of the map, between the city center and Tsuki Castle. If possible, we recommend landing here to immediately reach the underground area, which gives you access to a ton of loot. The thing is, since most people tend to land on the ground, you’ll almost always have the tunnel to yourself, at least at first.

While underground, take the opportunity to stock up on as many supplies as possible, giving you an early match advantage. There is almost always a buy station here too, allowing you to spend all the money you just earned. You can then take one of the many exits to exit this area and enter the next prepared POI. Or you can stay underground for a safer experience.

oganikku farms

Oganikku farm in Warzone 2.0.Oganikku farm in Warzone 2.0.

While the above landing spot is much safer, players may be looking for a little more action early in the match. If that’s you, we recommend landing at Oganikku Farms, a much warmer drop zone located on the northwest side of the map. This area varies in terms of how busy it is, but you’ll almost always land here with another team. There’s plenty of loot and lots of buildings to fight in, making it a great option for those who want to practice gunfights without worrying about the shaking sound of high-rise buildings. The good thing is that Oganikku Farms also usually has a buy station close by, allowing you to get ready early.

Shipwreck

Shipwreck in Warzone 2.0.Shipwreck in Warzone 2.0.

As far as safe landing spots go, Shipwreck is the best bet, as it’s almost never contested. She’s out of the way, has decent loot, and is usually within the first turn, allowing her to easily shield herself from the lethal gas. There is also usually a shop station in Shipwreck, which is a nice touch. If you are tired of dying right away, we recommend that you land here.

tsuki castle

Tsuki Castle in Warzone 2.0.Tsuki Castle in Warzone 2.0.

We can’t talk about the best landing spots without mentioning Tsuki Castle. This is the most interesting landing spot on the island and is intended for the more skilled players who are good at setting up and outwitting their opponents. You’ll find no shortage of gear in this area, complete with a buy station and even a helicopter. While Tsuki Castle is a fun place to land, it’s very busy, especially since it’s in the center of the map. You’ll probably land with three or more teams here, and due to the horrible multi-story sound, it’s hard to deal with opponents here.
