Meet Gill at the Great British Sewing Competition
Gill fell in love with sewing when her husband bought her her first sewing machine. She taught herself to sew, starting with a scarf from a 1970s duvet cover, which she has yet to wear in public. In the second episode, host Sara and Gill accidentally flirted. The theme of the week was sports week which gave contestants four hours to make a pair of sneakers. The shoes had to be robust and wearable, with a decent color combination.
Sara advised Gill to “really hang in there!” – Referring to her pen and drilling holes for said eyelets, obviously – before announcing, “I didn’t want it to sound dirty!”
“Look how I’m going to blush!” Gil replied. “That’s because you don’t know what’s been going through my mind ever since you said that,” Gill added when Sara admitted that she blushed too.
“Are you testing it on me? Why are you coming?” Sarah joked.
In the end, Angela and Gill couldn’t finish their shoes in time. Gill, while receiving praise for the color of his shoes, was unable to finish it in time and left the judges disappointed. Unfortunately, Angela came in last, followed by Gill and Chichi.
First place went to Brogan.
