Last year, Clare was invited as Honorary President of the European Bocuse d’Or 2020 in Tallinn, Estonia. Clare gained important insight into the competition through her experience and was inspired to support Team UK’s aspirations for success. Unfortunately, the UK team Bocuse d’Or has decided not to compete for the first time in over 30 years due to the ongoing COVID crisis and its effects on the hospitality industry.

According to Clare, Bocuse d’Or is the ideal international platform to showcase our culinary expertise, adding that the hospitality sector needs all the help it can get right now. Now that the UK is no longer a member of the European Union, it’s time to honor our outstanding chefs and suppliers. I am delighted to be working with the board to help Team UK achieve the same success as other countries and I am delighted to accept the position of Global Chef Ambassador.

“Clare is an amazing chef respected around the world,” said Florent Suplisson, Head of Food Events at GL Events Exhibitions Operations, the competition’s organizer. It is an honor for her to join our European selection as Honorary President and I am confident that Clare will contribute to Team UK winning in the future.

Andreas Antona, President of the Bocuse d’Or Academy UK continues: “We are extremely pleased that Clare has won her third Michelin star, cementing her place among the best chefs in the world.” We’re honored to have Clare on board as we seek funding, raise funds, and gain the culinary skills we need to compete at the highest level.

The Bocuse d’Or World Finals are scheduled to take place on June 1-2, 2021 in Sirha, Lyon. Along with the countries with the highest scores from the 2018 Bocuse d’Or continental selection, the top ten teams from the European selection will compete. The wild card entries are yet to be made public.
