How to save Instagram videos

According to Hootsuite, Instagram has more than 1 billion users every month, and the number of people using video is increasing by 80% every year. While it’s easy enough to take a screenshot or save a single photo, saving a video from the platform is a bit more difficult — but not impossible. We’ve rounded up eight different ways to download and organize all your favorite Instagram videos, and shared with you how to save Instagram videos for re-sharing or archiving content. If you’re looking for more tips and tricks, check out our more comprehensive review.

InstantSave by Gramblast is an in-browser Instagram media downloader. As you probably expected, the process is quite simple. Copy the link to a public post on Instagram, click Download Gram, and you will soon have an MP4 file download. As with the other services mentioned, you cannot download media from private links, even if you follow that account.

IFTTT automates the entire archiving process. However, you’ll need to set up both Dropbox and IFTTT accounts first. After signing up for both, select Ssave your Instagram videos to your Dropbox folder option on the IFTTT website. After that, you’ll need to give IFTTT permission to access your Instagram and Dropbox accounts. We’ve also put together a guide to IFTTT if you’re a beginner.

You’ll be able to choose which videos are saved to your linked Dropbox account. You can create special triggers to save videos you’ve particularly liked or videos you’ve uploaded to Instagram. Videos will be backed up to Dropbox as MP4 files.

Savefromweb not only allows you to download Instagram videos, but also albums, photos, profile pictures and stories. All you need is a URL from Instagram. Simply copy and paste the URL to the website and hit download. You will then be redirected to a screen asking you to either “download” or “return to home page”. After downloading, the file is automatically saved to the downloads folder on your computer.

InstaSave is a great mobile option for Android users. While browsing Instagram, tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the video you want to save. Then choose Copy the Share URL from the resulting menu and open InstaSave. The video will then be listed in your feed. Tap the down arrow below the latest video and select Save — all your saved videos and photos will appear in this InstaSave feed. You can also easily delete videos that have lost their luster in the meantime directly from InstaSave.

Formerly Insta Save, this app has been around for a while. As the new name suggests, it lets you quickly download photos and videos and then repost them to Instagram. You can search content directly in the app by typing your username.
