After four seasons, Succession it wrapped up its final season with a big episode on Sunday night. The episode was full of twists, surprises, and a hilarious interaction between Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) and Greg (Nicholas Braun). In other words, it was a typical episode. Succession.

The episode opens with Kendall (Jeremy Strong) vying to secure board votes to block the GoJo deal. Kendall thinks she has the support to do it, while Shiv (Sarah Snook) thinks she has enough votes to close the deal in Matsson’s favor and make her CEO of USA. Kendall and Shiv fly to Caroline’s estate to convince Roman (Kieran Culkin) to side with them. Through a conversation with Greg, Kendall learns that Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) will not be making her CEO, forcing her to side with her brothers. Finally, Roman and Shiv agree to support Kendall.
Before leaving for the board meeting, the three brothers go to Logan’s old apartment to claim some of his belongings. Tom tells Shiva that Matsson will make him CEO if the deal goes through, leading the brothers to rush to the office to get the final votes needed to block the deal. At the board meeting, it was tied six to six, with Shiv in the game for the tie. Kendall begs her sister to vote for him, but Shiv goes back on her word and votes for the deal, making Tom the new CEO. The episode ends with Roman drinking alone at the bar, Shiva coolly supporting Tom in the car, and a lifeless Kendall staring off into the sunset. In the end, Tom, not Roy’s son, won the throne.
Will there be a fifth season of Succession?
There are still potential stories to tell in a potential fifth season. Succession. What about Roy’s children? How does Tom behave as the new CEO? Does Greg continue his way to the top? Will Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) ever become ambassador to the United States? The answer to all these questions could be found in the new season.
However, this is the end for the Roys. There are no plans for a fifth season. In an interview from February 2023. Succession creator Jesse Armstrong told The New Yorker that season 4 is “definitely the end.” In a behind-the-scenes look at the episode, Armstrong said, “I don’t think I can ever write something as good as this again. . . It feels really scary and stupid, but with this feeling that it has to end, so that’s what I’m holding on to, I guess.” The series may be over, but its legacy as one of the best TV shows of all the times will live on
