The camera captured a video of two people luckily escaping the room after the e-scooter burst into flames. The video, which was later shared on Xu, scared and worried people. Fire and Rescue NSW released the video along with a description explaining the terrifying incident.

“Two backpackers had a lucky escape from a lithium-ion battery fireball at a hostel in Sydney’s Darlinghurst this morning. The e-bike is believed to have exploded,” the department wrote alongside the clip.
The video shows a man standing outside the room holding a shoe. Moments later, another man rushes out before flames erupt from the room.
One man suffered a leg injury and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. After the incident, six fire engines and 26 firefighters were deployed to put out the fire and bring the situation under control. Fortunately, the fire was contained to only one room, but all the hostel’s occupants, about 70 travelers, had to evacuate the place.
Fire crews believe the e-bike’s faulty lithium-ion battery caused the fire after the vehicle was left to charge. It is currently under investigation.

The video was posted on October 4th, and has since garnered nearly 62,000 views. The clip additionally garnered several comments from people.
