2023 Asian Games medal tally: The 2023 Asian Quadrennial Games are being held in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China. The 19th edition of the games began on September 23 and will continue until October 8. The multi-sport event hosted by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) brings together top athletes from different countries on the Asian continent.

In the 19th edition of the sports tournament, 665 athletes from India will compete against top athletes from other countries in 39 sports. India has a strong history at the Asian Games, consistently performing well and winning numerous medals in various sports. In the previous tournament held in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018, India won 70 medals, of which 16 gold, 23 silver and 31 bronze medals.

As can be seen from the table above, China leads the medal table with the highest number of medals won to date. The second and third places are occupied by the Republic of Korea with 52 and Japan with 51 medals.

For the first time in the history of the Asian Games, India won the gold medal in air rifle shooting and women’s cricket. It is a huge achievement for the nation and the athletes and we hope that these hardworking athletes participating in the tournament will win more medals and prove to the world how great they truly are. After a drought of 41 years, India won a gold medal in equestrian sports. The Indian equestrian team of Anush Agarwalla (Etro), Hriday Vipul Chheda (ChemXPro Emerald), Divyakriti Singh (Adrenalin Firfod) and Sudipti Hajela (Chinski) won India its third gold at the Asian Games.
