The tour begins spectacularly as the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy embarks on a journey across the stratosphere, reaching a staggering 120,000 feet above the Earth’s surface. It then made a spectacular landing, culminating in a landing at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This remarkable achievement was achieved by attaching the trophy to a custom stratospheric balloon, allowing for the creation of stunning images of the trophy located at the edge of Earth’s atmosphere, captured by 4k camera.
The Trophy Tour’s 2023 edition promises to be the most lavish ever, giving fans around the world the chance to connect with this revered icon. Starting June 27, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy will begin its journey through 18 countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, the United States, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy and the host country, India.
This will be the first official Trophy Tour since 2019, giving cricket fans around the world the chance to relive the celebration and carnival experienced during the prestigious tournament. Through a series of innovative activities and events in various countries, the 2023 ICC World Cricket Championship Cup Tournament will offer one million fans the opportunity to interact directly with this prized silverware.
Geoff Allardice, CEO of the ICC, emphasized the importance of the Trophy Tour, saying:
