After the discovery of an incoming asteroid, Mills and Koa rush to their escape ship before Earth’s surface is completely remade. However, when they reach her escape ship, Koa not only realizes that her parents died in the accident that brought her to Earth in the first place, but that Mills also lied to her about the family of her was in her destiny. For a few moments, it seems that Koa and Mills will part ways irrevocably due to the latter’s grief and feelings of betrayal.
Instead, Mills opens up to her about the loss of his own daughter, Nevina (Chloe Coleman), who died while he was on the same mission that brought him and Ko together. Despite not being able to fully understand it, Koa acknowledges the Mills vulnerability. Consequently, the couple’s shared pain brings them back together. Unfortunately, just as Koa and Mills are about to leave Earth, their escape ship is struck by a meteor and plummets from the side of a mountain.
On the ground, Mills and Koa find themselves surrounded by three very angry Tyrannosaurus rexes. Mills gets out of the escape ship and manages to defeat two huge dinosaurs by himself. However, when his only weapon runs out of ammo, only a well-timed geyser explosion and a last-minute save from Koa keep the remaining T-Rex from killing Mills. With only seconds to spare, Mills and Koa race back to their escape ship and leave Earth just as it is hit by a planet-altering asteroid.

As he and Koa fly to the rescue ship waiting for them somewhere in the stars, Mills closes his eyes and recalls some of his last memories with his daughter. For a moment it seems that the pilot is about to succumb to the pain of his multiple injuries and die. But he regained consciousness when Koa took her hand in his. Sixty-five it then ends with an image of Mills and Ko’s ship speeding away and becoming another speck of light in a sea of stars.
As for the endings, Sixty-five‘s is ultimately a reflection of the film itself. It’s a simple and basic conclusion that plays with many familiar story ideas and rhythms, but nevertheless achieves an emotional resolution that is moving in its own way and surprisingly upbeat. as exciting as many Sixty-fiveMills and Koa’s action sequences are really what keep them alive because of their ability to bond over their grief. then it’s only appropriate Sixty-five it ends with an image that emphasizes both connection and loneliness in equal measure.
