‘Absolutely blown away’: US man’s viral reaction to trying butter chicken and naan

There are numerous videos on social media of foreigners trying Indian cuisine and expressing their amazement at the incredible flavors. Those first experiences often result in wonderful reactions that are amazing to watch. A video of a man in the United States trying Indian food has gone viral and might even inspire you to order some of the dishes featured in the video.

The video was originally posted on Instagram by Luke Collins. It went viral after it was shared on X by an account called ‘Microplastics Explorer’.

“This amazingly honest white guy trying Indian food for the first time and loving it is so healthy,” reads the caption alongside the video shared on X. The video opens to show Luke Collins placing an order from an Indian restaurant in Kentucky. His meal choices include onion bhaji, butter chicken, garlic naan, rice and gulab jamun.

Nestled comfortably in his car, Collins first tries the onion bhaji and scores it an 8 out of 10. He goes on to sample the garlic naan and butter chicken, giving it an impressive 9.5 and 9.9 respectively. As the video comes to a close, he dips the garlic naan into the butter chicken and enjoys it. After tasting this fusion, Collins exclaims, “My taste buds are hurt. It should be a crime.” He concludes his gastronomic adventure with gulab jamun.
